Leader’s Role in Creating Company Culture

What problem do you solve?

  • Katie will demystify the leader’s role in creating a culture where people want to stay, feel engaged, and be productive.

  1. What three questions do you answer?

    1. Why is it so crucial for companies to build a happy and healthy workplace culture?

    2. How do you measure if a workplace culture is successful?

    3. How can companies showcase their culture now that most of us are working remotely?

Show Notes:

  • Culture is the glue within your organization that helps people feel a part of the company.

  • Focus on 2 metrics to help determine your workplace culture.

    • Get engagement scores.

    • Use Glassdoor reviews to get anonymous feedback.

    • Realize that even though unhappy employees speak the loudest, there is usually a kernel of truth behind it.

      • It helps you find your weaknesses.

  • Culture has never been about being in-person. It’s in the in-between. It’s in between the events. It’s in your tone and how you deliver your message. It’s about letting people know you care.

  • Are we engaging our employees by letting them develop?

  • Recognize people’s wins.

  • Companies should talk about why culture matters and what impact it has.

    • It helps your leaders get on board.

  • It’s important as a leader to get training to work on any weak areas you might have.

    • The leader must be self-aware.

    • You should try to learn your blind spots.

    • You can share with your team what your blind spots are.

  • Create intentional moments when you seek feedback from those that don’t usually speak up.

    • You may want to make the feedback anonymous.
